Reaching Independence Through Employment

Supporting Youth aged 15 to 30 with flexible and holistic services to gain the confidence, skills and experience needed to find and sustain meaningful employment.

The Futures for Youth Program provides a supportive environment for young Canadians aged 15 to 30 to learn life and employability skills, discover their interests, and obtain the training and paid work experience to successfully find and sustain meaningful employment.   Youth will be provided with a living allowance during the 5 week workshop series and other supports as needed while gaining the confidence, skills and experience necessary to be successful in employment.

Who is Eligible?

  • Youth between the ages of 15 and 30 (at time of intake)
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons
  • Youth legally entitled to work in Canada

Program Includes:

  • Individual employment counselling
  • Group based workshop series for 5 weeks
  • Living allowance during workshop series
  • Transportation support
  • Life and personal development skills
  • Essential skills
  • Employability skills
  • Vocational assessments
  • Supportive, assistive and adaptive devices, equipment and technology
  • Counselling with an RCC and/or Psychologist
  • Occupational skills training
  • Certifications and upgrading
  • Paid work experience
  • Job search techniques and support
  • Job start supports such as work gear and/or tools
